Bro I have been jogging with you for years, did you get a new heart? Yeah bro, I installed a 12-litre per minute, 8 chamber, water cooled, dual-pump heart that is custom 3D printed with a premium platinum alloy.
Pumping warm blood through a cold iron heart sounds kinda poetic
I've worked in this industry, designing blood pumps, LVADs and yes, artificial hearts. What Dr Timms and his team at BiVacor have accomplished is truly amazing. They have been working on this for my entire 20+ year career. It's truly a marvel of modern engineering that deserves recognition.
"From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as though it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call the temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved, for the Machine is immortal..." said by Magos Dominus Reditus in the teaser trailer for the 2018 video game Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus.
As a person currently in early heart failure (EF still >50) I find this incredibly encouraging! I am going to be following this story closely. 👍
Mechanics servicing artificial heart, “Hmmm sorry mate don’t know what’s wrong with it and we can’t get you in until 3 weeks on Tuesday.”
IRON MAN officially born in Australia! Great Work and Revolutionary Innovation.
Imagine the feeling you would get when your battery hits 1 % and you dont have a charger
*From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh... it disgusted me*
i think someday we’ll have someone who literally has a “heart of gold”.
