If you change Lichtman's economy key from "Is the economy good" to "Do people have a positive opinion on the economy", to account for people being idiots/ social media spamming misinformation, then Lichtman's system would have predicted Trump. Which is pretty solid.

Why does Uyguyr think he has the right to be so smug and nasty about his political analyses and predictions when he's been wrong more often than he's been right? All he does is simp for some amorphous, abstract, naive, notion of "populism", yet he got utterly destroyed (with a media empire behind him) in the primary phase of the special election for California's 25th back in 2020, a fact no one ever seems to throw in his face. The dude has a massive ego so I'd love to see him have to grapple in real time between conceding that he's a shitty, unlikable, abrasive, candidate or that progressive-populism isn't always the auto-win.

I don't place much value in the Lichtman keys but they have subjective elements. Professor Litchtman said that in favor of Harris there were no major Biden scandals or social disruption. But arguably the gaslighting over Biden's cognitive decline was a major scandal and the free Palestine protests were significant social disorder. In short, one could argue that Lichtman incorrectly applied some of his own keys.
