If Bibi is anything like his buddies e.g. Orban (rest in piss), he has absolutely replaced IDF command with sympathetic yes-men who are presumably pro-settlement. The IDF has always defended the larger settlements because they are legal under Israeli law, but now they're also being seen up and down the West Bank supporting just about any messianic group. There's also absolutely a problem with the IDF having actual fifth columns from the settler movement inside of them, and not enough was done to eradicate them before Bibi came in. Also very good point on the Apartheid vs. Occupation issue. To cite the John Kerry Triangle of Doom, Israel cannot, at the same time, be all three between Jewish - Democratic - West Bank. If it is to cement its hold over the West Bank by claiming it is just a non-state territory up for grabs, then demographics dictate it will no longer be a Jewish state, unless it is willing to simply enact racial separation there and no longer be Democratic.

I come bearing good news. Two opposition parties unified a couple days ago and now have 26 mandates to Netanyahu's 25. There's a chance another party with 15 mandates will join them as well so here's hoping for a dethronement.
