A part of the country doesn’t want a democratically elected republic anymore. I grew up respecting the constitution and what it stood for. I really thought we were all on the same page on this and that there were lines that never should be crossed. We could disagree on policies but the foundation of this country held a baseline to acceptable behavior. Accepting this new normal is going to be hard.
