So 49:01 I'm gonna tell you, my daughter was just turning one around the time unus annus was half way there. She learned how to walk that December and even walked into the living room cause daily I'd have it on and she knew the ticking of the clock m3ant the funny guys were gonna be on TV. The mermaid episode is part of why she started to like mermaids at 1 years old. Today she doesn't remember it at 5 years old but I always remember the times even my daughter would get excited with me for the daily uploads. I watched the end without her as it was late but I did explain that it was over and we'd have the memories from it as she asked what happened right before she turned 2. Mark's "space is cool" song has inspired my daughter to love space and space exploration. She has a way of seeing mark and eathan where she understands we aren't family but she's always happy to see when I can turn on a video for her.
I legit thought they stopped playing Sons of the Forest because Mark couldn't stand the high pitched lighter sound. Sucks that it's just because of hiyah
I wasn't watching his channel back when Unus Annus was being made, so I only learned about the experience in passing from friends. I think each person can still recreate the feeling of Unus Annus once for themselves without having been there. Have all the videos queued up, watch one each day for a year, then once you finish, delete them all and never reacquire them. With enough empathy and commitment, I don't think any experience is unknowable or out of reach. I haven't done this, but I could see it being an excellent way to honor Mark if I somehow outlive him.
Man, all this Unus Annus talk really takes me back. Good times, good times.
I was lucky enough to be there for the entire run of UA and it was the best thing at the time and definitely helped me get through covid times being stuck inside and having zero business at my job I’d just stack up a week of videos and have a good couple hours a day just enjoying content
The unmitigated SHOCK of hearing *redacted* over and over instead of *redacted* felt almost illegal. 😂
0:12 MARK DOES WHAT TO CATS?!
I took a break from Mark and Ethan the same year they started Unus Anus and im still so mad at myself for missing it. I missed what Mark says is one of his biggest successes in his career
"I'm not the first person to hiyaaaa but I made it cool" Exasperated Wade is awesome and this just made me laugh so hard
Re-watching the whole series in order and it's really hitting me that this is just such a great idea for an episode and I hope they do it again
