Glutathione is the master detoxification enzyme of the entire body. It protects the mitochondria, keeps hydrogen peroxide in check, protects cell membranes, and supports the function of other antioxidants in the body. When your glutathione is low, you can not eliminate toxins. Glutathione’s most important function in your body is to protect your mitochondria. Many chronic illnesses are associated with mitochondrial damage, including cancer. Toxins attack the electron transport chain in the mitochondria, which generates energy. You need energy to detoxify your body! Glutathione helps the body eliminate fat-soluble toxins. It also helps prevent damage to cellular membranes caused by seed oils.
