An enlarged prostate pushes against the bladder, reducing its capacity, which is why one of the most common symptoms of an enlarged prostate is frequent urination at night. Frequent urination at night, or polyuria, can also be caused by the following: •Type 2 diabetes •Prediabetes •High-carb diets •Excess water intake at night •Alcohol •Caffeine •Certain medications •Kidney damage •Sleep apnea Most medications for an enlarged prostate work by reducing DHT, a powerful form of testosterone. The following natural remedies inhibit the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which converts testosterone into DHT: •Saw palmetto •Milk thistle •Stinging nettle root •Pumpkin seed oil The prostate has a lot of vitamin D receptors. Vitamin D regulates the growth of the prostate and helps prevent excessive growth. To increase your vitamin D, get more sun exposure or take at least 20,000 IU of vitamin D daily along with 350 mg of magnesium glycinate. As testosterone decreases, that can sometimes leave you with too much estrogen. DIM is an excellent remedy for hormonal imbalances related to estrogen. One of the most common contributors to an enlarged prostate is insulin resistance. Too much insulin can trigger the hormone IGF-1, which can increase the size of the prostate. Insulin is triggered by the consumption of carbohydrates and frequent eating. These 11 foods can help shrink the prostate 1. Low-carb foods 2. Wild-caught salmon/sardines 3. Arugula 4. Beets 5. I’m 72 and the only things I take for my enlarged prostate is either eat pumpkin seeds or take pumpkin seed oil. Both work like a charm

I’m 67 and had miserable nights two years ago. I cut late snacks, moved coffee to morning, and switched to magnesium glycinate for sleep. The big changes were adding arugula beet salad at lunch and taking D3 with my main meal. I also learned pelvic floor relaxation breathing instead of constant squeezing. Within 4 weeks, I woke up only once per night, and my mood returned. Small habits plus food timing really matter. Wishing strength and steady mornings to all.

In my late 20s I had some sort of prostate inflammation which gave me pain and I had allot of trouble sitting. I read about how the native Indians would eat pumpkin seeds for healthy prostate so I would have a handful before sleeping. I did this for a while my pain and inflammation both disappeared.
