This is often when the brain’s reward system is at its lowest point, causing many people to give up right before things start to improve. Sugar can combine with proteins in the body through a process called glycation, permanently damaging tissues and nerve endings. Over time, a high-sugar diet can also contribute to insulin resistance. When quitting sugar, it’s important to eliminate hidden sugars as well. Starches are a common hidden sugar found in many ultra-processed foods. Brain fog, irritability, and fatigue are common during a sugar detox and often drive people back to sugar. This happens because the brain is craving dopamine and pushing you to consume more sugar. Around day 5, many people begin experiencing the benefits of quitting sugar, including reduced cravings, lower inflammation, improved mental clarity, better energy, and weight loss. B vitamins, potassium, and magnesium may also help reduce sugar cravings and support the body during the transition. I had stopped eating sugar for 30 days because of medical reasons and I wanted to die. I felt like a junkie and the headaches were bad. I had to give up fruits bread rice cheese I felt so bad I wanted to be knocked out till I could get over the rough part. I didn’t give up and felt so good at the end of the month and everything tasted super sweet afterwards

I started fasting a year ago, and cut out sugar from my diet as much as possible. I’m now 170 pounds. I dropped close to 60 pounds in one year. I’ll eat one meal a day in the evening. I don’t eat any fast foods. I do all of my own cooking. I’m 72 years old and six feet tall.

I’m approaching one month without carbs or sugar. The hardest part was obviously the beginning, the first 3 days or so. BUT also pretty rewarding, I lost almost 10 pounds just quick. After that the weight loss slows but you can feel your body repairing, my tension was getting loose, I was sleeping wayyy better, had more energy, fatty lumps disappeared (I had a hump on that back of my neck and below my ribs was a protrusion of extra fat….GONE. 28 days into this I feel fantastic. Have zero sugar cravings, can walk past pastries and candies without a second thought. I’m down from 210 to 193, without starving myself, in a little less than a month! My hypertension has degraded from pretty serious to almost 120/80. I’m telling you guys, carbs and sugars are KILLERS.

I am pre -diabetic , for the last 20 years I been drinking my coffee with no sugar , I eat more vegetables, limit my rice consumption, and do my best to stay away from fast foods although I cheat maybe once or twice a year but I know is not easy , is doable . At 50 I think I am doing pretty well since I am not in any Insulin medication or any other medications to control diabetes. I drink lots of water and exercise 4 days a week and be conscious on what you eat and all will be fine .

Memory better because if you run on fat not sugar then it's clean energy and your brain loves that energy.
