Hi Mark,.. A friend of mine works at a Hyundai dealership in Pickering Ont, and she says there is AT LEAST 5 vehicles in the back of the lot like 18's 19's etc. at any given time with blown engines waiting for new ones from Korea. It's a REGULAR full time job for 2 of their mechanics to replace them.
My 2018 kia forte caught fire in july but its not under any recall. Kia said it was a engine fire with no explanation why it randomly caught fire under 100k miles 😢
Love your channel. I have a ‘07 Chevy suburban 5.3. I was one of the lucky ones. My engine made it 200,000. Engine replacement I put in an engine that was meant for an 01 suburban full time v8 and surprised the gas mileage is slightly better
Great video Mark wtg man good info thank you
You have it SPOT ON!! Mr. Lakespeed (The Oil-Geek) did some investigation and found GMs problem was some of the cranks comming out of the Mexican factory were not properly polished thus causeing wear on the barings + the recommnded 0w20 oil was not provding enough protection. Café Regulations and $ Greed has destroyed the Auto Industry.
my sisters friend went to work for KIA as a manager he quit 3 weeks later he said it was because he spent all day being yelled at by customers about their cars....
I have a 2002 buick regal with 3800 eng, have had for six years , runs excellent good on gas, as 250kms and still keeps going..
Hi Mark, thanks for your vid’s love your work and the information. Watching from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Another great informative, interesting video Mark, have a great weekend
Carbon buildup is a known issue with Kia/Hyundai GDI engines. In the print of KIA's 2024 Telluride owner's manual, it recommends using a gas additive every 8,000 miles, so the mfg. is aware of the issue. Now knowing about this problem, I change my oil every 5000miles using only Valvoline Restore and Protect. Also, I typically use "Top Tier" gas and suggest looking that up, if you don't know about Top Tier gas, The last thing I do to fight carbon buildup, is using Chevron's Techtron gas treatment every 8-10k miles. Fingers crossed.
