Here in Thailand, I can combine Huawei Harmony with Deepseek which can write code for any app I desire. Original ideas can be coded for the price of the download. Huawei is an employee cooperative where there is an incentive for innovation. Deepseek is open source which empowers the user, not the corporatist.

A decade ago before the trade war, when I traveled to China, people in China loved American brands, American products such as apple were seen as status symbols for the wealthy, they frowned upon their own brands such as Huawei and Xiaomi, After the trade war, that attitude has totally changed, they now actively and proudly support their own brands, especially the younger generation, first it was just the hardware, now we are starting to see software even the entire ecosystem being replaced. America pretty much gave up its own dominance and handed them the entire market.

In South Africa when Google banned Huawei from Android and using it's software, everyone with a Huawei phone shrugged their shoulders and just continued life as normal with a different browser and OS after they updated. Huawei phone sales have only increased locally since that decision.
