Eli is right when he says that, with Musk, reality doesn't matter: Musk represents "post-truth capitalism".

His business ventures are nothing short of pure theory in his mind and 1% of the actual implementation that realizes his theory. He was ousted as CEO of PayPal before they were bought by eBay (replaced by Thiel), bought the domain for X, held it for decades only to use it for Twitter in one of the most controversial takeovers. He's an aggressive drama queen that can never be satisfied because he never actually succeeds the way he envisions. Just ask him about being CEO of PayPal -- he got paid, but he won't talk about Thiel and PayPal.

Anthropic and OpenAI will have the same fate.
