I bet on china, also for the space race, and the thorium race, and the ev race, and the solar/wind race, and the gene therapy race, and… oh my there aren’t that many races anymore where china is not either racing or leading actually. that’s a genie that will never go back in the box no matter what. let’s cooperate and compete fairly, our only hope…

Ironically, Huawei wouldn't be anywhere near as massive, vertically-integrated and innovative as it is now, if it wasn't for the US.

But the US did not want China to own US Chips.. two years later China has the Chips,Software and a Solution equal or even more efficient than western solutions.

It’s really impressive what is happening right now in the USA. I still don’t understand how things went so badly so fast. Silicon Valley was the envy of the world and now it’s all about investors and money and capital gains and technology has taken the back seat. In all this, we European people throw away a lot of money with our over bureaucratic processes and zero propensione to risks. We live in a very strange world, indeed. China is set on a path of taking over the world and I am not even sure it’s a bad thing.

Well let me think about it, hardware and software that works well enough and is tailored towards what I need at a price I can afford. Sounds like a winner to me, and I can hear the cheering from Delhi India to Mombasa Kenya

This is the fundamental difference between a spoiled, self centered, and singular minded culture versus a group minded, collaborative, and harmonious culture. Our Tech bros have forgotten that their rise was because of massive socialized capital from blank government checks and open source, free everything that got people hooked into the systems. From our Government in the USA to our private sector we have sat on top for so long we actually believe we not only deserve it, but that we got there by some free market, capitalism approach. When in truth we got to a massively dominant position because of welfare for the rich venture capitalists and free reign R&D and development with no regulations and funded either with massive money printing or financialization gimmicks that siphoned other Country's resources as collateral for printing. And here we are even with all that leverage, political capital which we have burned through, the world's reserve currency, and near total domination in tech... Our bridges are failing, our infrastructure is collapsing, our education system has steadily declined, high levels of poverty, insane debt and and and and....

Huawei's cloud AI is managing lights out manufacturing hubs in China. And the most advanced EV factories as well. Where 95% of the process is already automated, and they are working on that last 5%. China is SO far ahead its not funny. They have a chronic shortage of radiologists, so they trained AI to do that. They have AI doing dental implants. Paving 4 lane highways, managing their power grid to maximize the huge influx of renewable energy they are installing. Even in the fields monitoring conditions and doing planting and harvesting. How did they get so far so fast? Education and an open source economy. They graduate 5 million STEM candidates a year. 10x more than the US. Many hands make light work, and so do many minds. Their universities are already using AI to solve the engineering issues of Nano-replication. What do you think is going to happen to this scarcity inducing capitalist system? When they open source that? Abundance is the true enemy of the capitalist model.

About 10 years ago I spent a lot of time in Mexico and Guatemala. Making ready to go complete systems designed for a rougher, dirtier and less climate controlled environment is exactly what is needed to get a system up and running. I saw some fantastic ideas put together for just ordinary every day tasks. My grocery bill here in the US is starting to scare the crap out of me.
