Description

Sweet potatoes can be tricky since they usually need a long, hot summer to thrive. In this experiment, I test three different growing methods to see which one actually performs best. If you’ve been curious about the easiest way to grow sweet potatoes, this one’s worth a look. That's not a sweet potato. That's a "sweet Jesus!" potato

The real question is how do those huge one’s taste! Personally, I prefer the smaller version for flavor!

For the isopod, the front half is likely about to molt. Isopods always shed their "pants" first. Cool find! I love raising them!

I also got several super giant ones. I was able to cut the ends & wedge into my Instant Pot. 28 minutes later that ONE sweet potato was done!!! And it was delicious! I made a chocolate "cream" pie, muffins, & chocolate pudding, plus some for the dog. Tasted like the others. But I may go Ruth Stout this year!

Last year I picked up some sweet potato slips from my local nursery. It was my first year with a garden and relied on Google to tell me how to plant them. I was totally shocked by how easy they were to grow in grow bags!! One of my fav harvest days!!

The sweet potatoes were amazing, but the sight of a grown man taking delight in an interestingly colored sow bug made my day. Folks, never lose that childhood sense of wonder!

06:45: Kevin, as someone who has also struggled with anxiety and depression, I found this moment to be really impactful. Not only did you notice the roly-poly, but you also paused for a moment to delight in the discovery. I'm so glad you are able to enjoy the little moments again. Also, HOLY CRAP. After a disappointing season last year, I'm excited to try this new method.
