NEVER self-compost gentlemen. There’s always a new bloom just around the corner. Take care of yourself.
You're a legend Kevin. Seriously big respect for opening up and sharing your story. I think everyone will admire you for being so up front and honest like this. Here's to a stonkingly good 2026!
Appreciate you all, as always. Thank you for watching us for over a decade now on YouTube. Few things: 1. PLEASE make use of the resources in the description or reach out to me personally if you are going through something similar. 2. I'm posting more on my art journey on my personal YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@kevinmespiritu 3. If our new membership The Greenhouse is interesting to you, here's where to join: https://shop.epicgardening.com/pages/the-greenhouse-membership Keep on growing AND NEVER COMPOST YOURSELF, Kevin
Thank you for opening up. We need more people online to be honest about issues they are going through.
I discovered your channel almost 3 years ago, in the first month of me getting sober off of fentynal and meth. During the first year of sobriety watching your videos, and gardening along with you was the only thing that helped me get through the day. You helped me find a true passion of mine, helped me get through my own depression, and helped distract me from everything going on in my head/life at the time. You are the reason I started gardening! I just wanted to let you know how much you helped me, and I appreciate you opening up about your struggles with mental health. You inspired me, as I'm sure you've done for many others. Thank you for being here.
I am very much a lurker on youtube I never comment, but I want to write one for you Kevin. I'm am so glad you have chosen to stick around and grow with us. I understand the self-composting thoughts. It's hard to see a way out, and I have stuggled with it randomly throughout my life. My husband helped me bring my garden to realization, but you have not only taught me tips and tricks, but that it's normal when something doesn't work. That its ok not to produce a perfect garden every time. I have cried over accidentally killing my small greenhouse of plants, my husband gave me a hug and immediately put me back to Botanical Interests to buy and try again. You are by far the most helpful and fun gardening channel that I have had the good fortune of finding. Stay growing Kevin ❤
I lost my brother at 13 and my mom the day after my 18th birthday. I’m 22 now and gardening saved my life. I’ve watched your channel for a while and you talking about your mental situation is what we need right now in the world, simply raw and real emotion. I respect you more than I already did❤ you should be proud bc it takes guts to be vulnerable enough to ask for help
Eric, My life has been nothing but loss. I’m 33, treatment resistant depression and CPTSD. When I found your videos I was ready to give up on life. Then I moved into a house with a yard, I started getting your videos in my feed. I built a couple small boxes and I used your videos to learn. I now have a huge backyard garden that makes me feel alive. There is no other place in the world that makes me feel home like my garden. The more I grew the less I spent my time feeling hopeless. Gardening taught me patience, hard work and that it’s OK to fail even if you spend a lot of time on something. I started taking proactive steps to take care of myself and my health. I can say very clearly that if it wasn’t for you and other YouTube gardeners to inspire me to have the garden I always wanted, I wouldn’t be here today. Please take care of yourself.
Mental health issues, especially in men, is not talked about enough. Thank you for being a voice to a serious issue.
We lost my nephew in 2025. I am glad you are still here, Kevin. ❤
