A thing to note - Grand line doesn't lie at the equator. It crosses it at the 45° angle. The poles are in the middle of North and South Blues, not on the Red line.
You know it’s a great day when matpat makes a one piece theory
I'm surprised that Matpat never touched on the fact that every Island in the Grand Line has its own individual magnetic field and climate surrounding it. I don't know much about that type on science but I thought for sure that it would have interesting implications if carried over to the real world.
Note: During time skip Nami landed on a skyisland. On it there are scientists that study the weather. They spread water among islands with water shortages.
I’m surprised that Matpat didn’t bring up the fact that the world of One Piece has been calculated to be 2.7 times the size of earth.
You're forgetting a crucial detail, there, MatPat! It's true that the mountains in California cast a rain shadow over the regions to the east, but that region is almost entirely dry land. If the world of One Piece is 90% water, then most of the area affected by the 'rain shadow' will be ocean. Almost all rain that falls on land starts in the ocean. While the area won't be receiving moisture from the west, it will have its own ocean to contribute moisture to the air.
The four oceans being almost completely separated is even a plot point, Sanji’s dream is to find the All Blue, the one point in the world where they mix
"If the world were real it'd be dangerous, disastrous, and ruin any attempt to better your life" It's pretty much exactly like that in the show too
"If the world of One Piece were real, it would be dangerous, disastrous, and it would and it would ruin basically any attempt to better your life" That's the One Piece we know and love.
Please re-do the analysis with consideration that the grandline is not over the equator but actually at an angle as mentioned by Law somewhere around chapter 1000. It would be super interesting to see if the world would be more livable at least climate-wise. Love your videos!!!
