Film Theory: AI Will END Toy Story

Anyone else bothered by how Lee keeps calling the Lilypad an ipad knockoff when it's clearly meant to be a reference to the leapfrog tablet?

It’s so funny when you realize that Pixar is literally selling an a Lilypad IPad case so kids can spend more time on their screens

Lilypad is gonna be ToyStory’s version of AM, trust.

It would be crazy. If Sid Philips was the one behind it all. He made the Lily-pad to get rid of all Toys. It's crazy since in Toy Story 3 he makes a cameo as a garbage man so I'm most likely not gonna be right.

Something that is left out of the 'AI is going rogue" is that the AI is given the objective of "Stay active" almost every time. It's the Paperclip problem, if you make an AI that is optimized for making paperclips, they could eventually make an AI swarm that tries to fight anything in its way that would prevent it from continuing to make paperclips, even if we already have all the paperclips we would ever need.

Lilypad will be an AI toy that will replace the heart and soul that these toys had with the children.

i actually really hope that the theme, or at least one part of the theme, is about parents being more aware of their children's use of technology. not only can "slop" hurt development like lee talked about, but kids having complete unchecked access to the internet is so dangerous for them, and far too many parents seem to not know or care at all about what their kids are doing online
