Description

UK and European politics have been dominated by centrist parties for hundreds of years. This is now changing radically. A recent election in Manchester shows us what might be about to happen across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. I think you're underestimating the extent to which Labour are ideologically committed to maintaining the status quo.

The wealthy spend millions on lobbyists so they don’t have to pay billions in taxes. Please wake me up when this changes.

The world as we've known it for the last 50 years is unsustainable, it's over, it's just a question of what replaces it.

The rich couldn’t give a F who wins in politics providing they are dependent on their funding

Something worth considering: Along with Labour being willing to lie to the public, they've also shown that they're willing to u-turn on popular policies once they've gotten their votes (Starmer dumped a lot of progressive policies after winning the last GE, it's partly why he's so unpopular). If Labour approach you about this, say they're going to put wealth inequality front and centre, you put your weight behind them and they win next month, then they dump the wealth inequality plans, it'll be detrimental to your platform as you told people to vote for a party that actively lies about policies. It'll also be detrimental to the Greens, it'll show that they're still a fringe party and have no serious chance of winning a GE. There's also the risk of Labour half-arsing it intentionally, bringing in policies that are labelled as Wealth Equality policies, but have intentional gaping holes that allow their wealthy backers to jump through. This will tarnish everything you've been working towards, the messaging in traditional media will be "Well, Labour tried that and it didn't work". It feels like the Greens are a lot more likely to follow through on wealth inequality policies, they may have lower odds of winning right now, but the horse you're hoping to back feels like a riskier bet as you risk sinking the whole ship.

I think we’ll see a huge swings to the Green’s and independents in the local elections and that will certainly change the betting odds! People have realised the main political parties, generally offer the same agenda of maintaining the status quo and do nothing to significantly change their lives.

"Center" was always a myth and a lie - there is a reason all "centrist" parties over the last decades moved right and not a single one became more left.

This collapse is the result of extreme inequality and the two main parties becoming indestinguishable from each other. People want something radically different.
