After living in Russia for close to one year, I observed that, if you could sum up a people with one word, it would be "subtle". And no one exceeds in that characteristic more than Vladimir Putin. His subtlety, combined with his close, patient observation, his depth of learning, as one trained in law, but also self taught in history and politics and diplomacy keep him forever in front of just about everyone, including those who want to destroy him, his achievements, and Russia herself. What gift, not only to Russia, but to the world, he has been, and continues to be.
