In 2013, I just got out of a 3-year relationship. I was broken hearted & burnt out from work. I went to Istanbul for a week, my first time outside of the US. I fell immediately head over heels with the city and its people. I got out of the tram and looked lost. Immediately, a shop owner helped me get to my hostel. My first morning, I went to the Archeaology Museum then to Topkapi Palace... The next day went to Hagia Sofia then to the Basilica Cistern. The art and people of this city healed a part of my soul I thought was broken forever. Came back 3 years later to visit the friends I made who worked at the hostel I stayed at. I cannot wait to be back. Istanbul is one of those cities that grabs a hold of your soul. I will never stop recommending for people to visit it.
I like how the music is relevant and displays your elegant taste in every subject. No surprises. Greetings from İzmir / Turkey.
As a Turk, this made me so happy.Thank you!!!
I've been twice to this beautiful city and it's indeed a place we feel overwhelmed by the amount of history, beauty and art we are surrounded by! Thanks for another great video!

I loved the Refik Anadol shout out. Truly one of the most fascinating artists working today
As a Turkish art-history nerd and a huge fan of your channel this made my day!
The city is also responsible for the song that is undoubtedly playing in everybody's head right now.
3 great empires. The Roman Empire, The Roman Empire and the Ottoman Empire
I visited Istanbul some years ago and I was impressed by their love of art and books. Such a beautiful city with a long and fascinating history. Also, they love cats! ❤
