When Mark Kermode saw this film at a press screening the projectionist played the reels in the wrong order. Mark said the film made more sense in that screening than when viewed in the correct order 🤣
Thank you for your coverage of David Lynch’s films. The homeless person appearing is one of the scariest scenes of any film. Rest in dreams Mr. Lynch, Night Blooming Jasmine.
This film broke my brain when I first watched it. After my second viewing, i was convinced it was my favorite Lynch film.
Rest in peace David Lynch! The legend
Naomi Watts was brilliant in this movie. Should have received an Oscar.
Lynch was a visionary and a unique voice in a sea of mediocrity, the world is creatively poorer after his passing.
that mobster who spits out the coffee is angelo badalamenti, btw!
Let us know your thoughts on the movie
I love that while in the dream sections of the movie we see a lot of coffee cups but no one drinks, the executive spits it out. and then in the last part we see coffee being drunk showing awake vs asleep. nice suttle detail explaining a lot.
The scene 11:29 in the beginning of the movie is right after she shoots herself. Remember how she’s seen lying on the bed at one point. This is her perspective of death and the punishment she must repeat because of the hit she put out. That’s why the old people demons come back for her at the end to take her back to the beginning…
