Uncovering the Past on Lot 5 (S13) | The Curse of Oak Island
Investigating Stone Foundation Clues on Lot 5
Learn how investigation near Oak Island's Lot 5 stone foundation uncovered artifacts potentially predating the Money Pit, triggering mandated archaeological review.
Short Summary
- Metal detection on Lot 5 spoil piles and adjacent ground sought clues about the mysterious round feature's occupants.
- Finds included lead shot, a potential door hinge fragment, glass, and coarse earthenware outside the initial spoil area.
- The discovery of in situ material forced a halt to digging due to the area's designation as a "special place."
This clip details Gary Drayton and Peter Fornetti's metal detecting on Lot 5 near the round feature. The team must now coordinate with archaeologists to excavate a deeply buried significant target found just outside the monitored perimeter.
