Somewhere on the island there should be trash pits, they are almost everywhere that was inhabited for long. When I used to detect we found them. They were not just an item or two, but entire pits of discarded housewares, broken tools, etc. but they were not all junk, there would be buttons off garments that had long rotted away, clay pipes, worn out shoes, lots of old bottles, etc.
