I get some crazy looks during trivia night…”dude, how do you know this stuff?!”….instead of brain rotting, I try to learn stuff..

I was in grade school in the 60s, and I remember being told the way that Africa and South America fit together was just a coincidence. I remember being disappointed lol. Then in a 1980 geology class I found out it wasn't a coincidence at all. I have been in love with the process of plate tectonics ever since.

An old but truly brilliant film of our earliest beginnings. I particularly miss this 'old' production style with tasteful music, quality narration and sheer fascination at our earth.

I'm so old. I remember when the Grand Canyon was a mere creek.

I’ve been in the hospital for a week now and watching the History Channel has been my only reprieve from, well, everything else here. Thanks.

This really puts things in perspective. Funny how indifferent the earth is about all those creatures crawling all over it.
