I wonder if the focus on low cholesterol diets and statins is responsible for the huge increase we see in dementia?
No wonder they hate us eating meat, butter, eggs, good oils, avocado, coconut oil, bacon etc. and want us to eat plant based muck
So, add in Glycocalyx damage/extended issues due to sugars, more things in the blood ( sugar and oxalate come to mind ), and high blood pressure causing issues with the walls over time. We damage the inside, draw in blood, and all it carries, to places it shouldn't be, and watch the damage progress until it harms or kills us, whether it is LDL binding, or other components stripping off top layers inside the artery. Still boils down to what starts harmful processes and what doesn't. Another set of questions very few touch because it takes away profit from food and drug industries.
I wish I could understand all of that 🤔 my husband is due for a visit to his cardiologist & he will blow a fuse because my husband stopped taking his statins. My husband is 80yrs. I won’t go to a Dr. Bc. I won’t take the statins.
In my 70’d and 41/2 years carnivore. I don’t give a flying fandango out m LDL levels being higher than “ normal”. They are at a normal level for ME.

Thank you Ivor and the wonderful Professor May God continue protecting both and your families
After decades of the medical industry pushing low- and no-fat, along with low-cholesterol diets, we should be seeing dramatic decreases in all manner of chronic illness. Instead, obesity, type 2 diabetes, dementia are at epidemic levels. Even worse, the number one cause of death in the U.S. and most developed countries is cardiovascular disease. It turns out, our parents and grandparents were right: eating a high-fat, high-cholesterol diet protects the heart and brain, nourishes the body and keeps all of ours systems: cardiovascular, metabolic, endocrine, digestive and circulatory, in balance.
Brilliant! Thank you so much! Wasn't Dr Malcolm Kendrick saying the same for vasovasorum? However, first time I hear that the endothelial layer is more than just one cell thick. Makes perfect sense. How can God and nature have created such a critical part of the arteries so poorly protected by just a single layered cell? Please Ivor, can you invite professor Bart Kay for an episode of your podcast and talk about this aspect -, the thickness of the endothelial layer? Please do. He's a such a knowledgeable and sharp cardiovascular pathophysiology scientist. He's outside the established view, and he's a carnivore :) I'll try to contact him to get his take on what professor Subbotin says. Please do Ivor. Thank you so much!
Evolution of lipid-heart hipotesis: 1) it's cholesterol No 2) it's LDL cholesterol No 3) it's small dense LDLc No 4) it's lp(a) Waiting for an update :)
