Sadly the worst thing you can do is tell your doctor that you saw a doctor on youtube...
I'm watching my dear friend's health eroding before my eyes. He's 52 and may never see age 53. He's completely addicted to sugar and seed oils, mostly through fast-food. His choices have recently started to have negative effects on his mental health. I've tried like crazy to educate him on nutrition but it always falls on deaf ears. I'm so sick of living in this "profit over people" country. Food addiction is REAL. π₯
My cholesterol has been high for years and my doctor was constantly pushing a statin⦠Finally she said to get a Calcium heart scan and my number is ZERO! I would of been taking it for no reason.
Keto hybrid diet for decades with high trigs and high ldl. Explained it to my doctor, but said he'd relax if I took a CT scan to look inside veins. Took the scan, veins are clean as a whistle!
My biggest obstacle now is finding a Cardiologist that won't push statins. Saw my Cardiologist last week and he dismissed my drastic improvement in several other areas because he thought my cholesterol had not improved enough. When I told him I had stopped the statin he said that was the reason my numbers weren't better. It's so frustrating. Years ago my primary tried pushing Ozempic. I want a Dr that wants to see me heal, and not try to push more meds. So frustrating.
My total cholesterol level is 450 and I feel better than I ever have in my life and I'm 58 and I don't take a single prescription drug
Once a. cholesterol reducing drug was developed the pharmaceutical companies kept reducing the threshold for use to sell more.
My LDL WAS 400 10 yrs ago. I was strict keto trying it with my husband to help with his PD. Cardiologist verbatim said β I am surprised you didnβt have a heart attack on the way to this appointment. Thing is we were hiking every week in the high elevations in the WA state c Cascades . I was 63 my husband was 72 with PD! So I just assumed the Dr was not informed. I ended up taking Zetia and eating a few more carbs and today my LDL IS 100. No heart issues at all. Iβm eating very low carb, resistance training 4 times a week and walk my dog everyday for 40 min. I am doing very well thanks to doctors like both of you. Please listen to these brilliant men as they are saving lives!
I paused the video at 6ish minutes and just started reading the comments..ππ fight on people!!
Great interview. I was diagnosed of insulin resΓstance december of last year by my endocrinologyst and he guided me to go through the nutrition and exercise route; he explained to me that the way to handle it was by losing weight. I called my nutricionist and she eliminated fruit from my diet, no rice, lots of protein and good fats, one βbadβ carb only at lunch (potato, corn, quinoa, beans, etc); I always had a big salad at lunch, meat, fish, pork, chicken during the week, olive oil, etc. I walked from 5km to 10km almost every day. Lost the extra weight in 6 months, and have been able to maintain it (by myself with no nutricionist). All blood markers are back to normal. I think one topic that was not stressed enough during this I interview was the need of exercising. You need to do both in order to lose weight and revert insuline resistance. (Ps I eat at least two eggs per day, chicken twice a week, pork once, use olive oil always, and have not had any trouble to the positive results I got)
