It’s 2025 and we still don’t know what a catch is.

It's all tied to sports betting.

It's unreal that millions of people sitting on their couch watching these games can see "yup, that was a missed/erroneous facemask" but we can't fix it because for some stupid reason we have restrictions on what is/isn't reviewable.

Birmingham has shielded bad officials for decades. Good SEC refs have quit because of how the bad refs have been coddled by the conference office.

Refs blew dead a TD in the Miami UF game where it was clear the RB was still up and moving. Officiating has been abysmal

If by “broken” he means “corrupt” then I completely agree. It takes just a few key penalties being called or not called to change the trajectory of a game. Even if it doesn’t affect who wins or loses, it can definitely affect other betting lines (I.e. the spread or some other random parlay). I truly think officials should have disclose every financial account and relationship they have.

Between NIL and officiating like we saw in the Auburn/OU game, my interest in college athletics is declining quickly. Why even devote time to watching these games when there is no accountability?

"People placing bets on this thing" is exactly why there is no transparency.
