I was exercising at the park today and got stopped by an older man. He asked if I was married and then said my husband is lucky because he can sleep with me whenever . It made me reallly uncomfortable. I wish all the creepers would go away. Women deserve to feel safe everywhere.

The fact that her family was wealthy, influential, and well known is why her case was expedited and solved immediately. They didn't tell the family about waiting 24 hours, they went looking and accessed camera footage immediately. Proves police can solves crimes they think are important enough to solve. Imagine if every crime and crime against a woman was treated this way.

Arrested 16 times in 5 years?! Can we not put repeat offenders on a list or something?

"maybe her husband should have been more forceful" as if a woman needs her husband's permission to do something as simple as running

It’s how the police department worked hard to solve Eliza’s case and gathered evidence within hours but failed her all at the same time because they chose to ignore Alesha’s case.

The fact that her husband called the police IMMEDIATELY when she wasn’t there when she would’ve been says so much about him. He truly loved her so much and that’s devastating

The fact that the professor blamed her for how she lost her life in this tragedy really reminded me of a quote from one of the books I read a few years ago “Like a compass needle that points north, a man's accusing finger always finds a woman” Truly what a disgusting thing to say about a women and a mother who has lost her life.

i can't imagine the horror alesha must have felt when she saw the news that the man that the cops just ignored for all those months had murdered someone

The blatant racism shown between the two women’s cases makes me ill-and that girl was so brave after her assault! Shame on those who could’ve done something
