‘Killer Mom’ Poisoned Family at Thanksgiving Dinner: Police

A North Carolina restaurateur, Gudrun Casper-Leinenkugel, is accused of poisoning her daughter to death during a Thanksgiving dinner and attempting to kill her other daughter and her boyfriend with a toxic chemical. Investigators say the victims drank wine laced with acetonitrile, and prosecutors allege Gudrun researched the chemical’s effects before the meal.
