Georgia woman Cheryl Coe claimed she accidentally shot her husband after mistaking him for an intruder, but investigators quickly found troubling inconsistencies at the scene and in her story. Detectives uncovered evidence of a volatile marriage, a recent explosive fight, and forensic findings that contradicted her account of firing from a distance. After a mistrial and a second trial in which prosecutors said she admitted to lying under oath, a jury convicted her of murder and aggravated assault, sentencing her to life in prison without parole.
