A federal judge blocked the Trump administration's attempt to strip legal protections for Yemeni immigrants, rebuking Kristi Noem's smear of this population as "killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies." Throughout his second term, Donald Trump has tried to terminate Temporary Protected Status for immigrant groups across the globe, including those fleeing civil war and violence in Yemen. Former ACLU attorney turned U.S. District Judge Dale Ho shielded those Yemeni immigrants on Friday, in a ruling emphasizing that these protections were a matter of life and death for an expectant mother, human rights worker, and others who built their lives in the United States.
