My dad is a retired District Ranger. He made a fantastic living and provided a very comfortable life for my family. Not once did he ever recommend I go into the park service, even though he could've easily ushered me in. He disliked it and retired at 44 the first chance he got. He never spoke or any unusual occurrences or really anything at all, but he would talk about the motorcycle wrecks that would occur. He seen people completely skinned and mangled in ways that don't seem possible. Maybe I'll ask if he has a really odd story and I can send it to you, but it's odd how little he has talked about his time in the park service throughout my life, makes me wonder.
Any story that has to involve the person running at the victims always scares the hell outta me lol had to flip on my right side to keep an eye on my door. Bed time. Night ya’ll.
In the second story, the ranger did nothing wrong. The guy threatening him forfeited the sanctity of his own life, he knew full well what he was gambling with.

The cave story is why I never have and never will visit a cave. Getting lost in a cave...the dark, the tight squeezes, the drops into unknown crevasses...it sounds like hell. NEVER!
I love park rangers, fire watch tower, just outdoors stories are sooo good!
That guy didn't take a life, the attacker wouldn't relent and Mike still had him sent to the hospital , with a pulse.
"And remember, this is a crafting table." As I listen to this working on a crochet craft 😂
I would never ever ever ever go spelunking
