This is an incredible city, with friendly people, ancient history, and delicious local food. We’ll have a huge breakfast, try Omani sweets, eat arsiya and madbhi with rice at a popular local restaurant, and finally eat the greatest of all Omani street foods - mishkak and the shuwa burger. Huge thank you to Ahmed, Oman Travel & Tourism for taking us around Oman. Follow Ahmed: https://www.instagram.com/officialomantravels/ Rozna Restaurant (https://maps.app.goo.gl/EGC6EZEPGanM9fqB9) - We’re starting this Omani food tour at one of the best restaurants in Muscat. We tried Omani bread, fried liver, and a bunch of other Omani dishes. We also happened to meet the manager Sulaiman Alkindi, who gave us a full tour of the restaurant, and also let us sample the lamb shuwa right out of the underground oven. Total price - 11 OMR ($28.53) Al Diwaniya Omani Sweets (https://maps.app.goo.gl/agqaVasvpd1oGnbk7) - Next up Ahmed took me to try Omani halwa, a dessert that’s also an Omani traditional celebration! Kabsa & Madbhi (https://maps.app.goo.gl/vUMyTVUpMFnHQsU26) - This was one of the highlights of the day, a Arabian Omani meal of rice with rock smoked madbhi, and arsiya - an Omani dish of rice and lamb beaten until it’s smooth like a porridge. Total price - 18 OMR ($46.68) Sightseeing in Muscat - Muscat is a beautiful city and after spending some time in the new city of Muscat, we then headed to the old city of Mutrah Fort for some amazing views, and also we visited Mutrah Souq to walk around and try some street food. Mohsin Burger (https://maps.app.goo.gl/i1ZefDjSRsV7W7qw7) - One of the best Omani street foods is mishkak - Omani grilled meat skewers which are often served with tart tamarind sauce. We also couldn’t miss the shuwa burger, a delicious Omani burger topped with shuwa. Total price - 13 OMR ($33.72) Oman is an incredible country - rich in history, friendly locals, and plenty of delicious food to taste! From the opening scenes, whatever that woman cooks, wherever she cooks it, I'll eat it!! You can just see and feel the generations of cooks that came before in her movements and in the food itself!!!

Dear Mark, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to express my appreciation for your previous visit to Syria during the Asad regime. Your willingness to explore and engage with the country during such a complex time was truly meaningful and left a strong impression. Now, with Syria entering a new era of liberation and renewal, I believe a return visit could hold an even greater significance. It would be an incredible opportunity to witness the resilience and progress of the Syrian people as they work to rebuild and move forward. Your past visit was special, and I’m sure revisiting Syria in this new chapter would offer a profound and unique perspective. Warm regards, Please upvote this message to reach Mark.

I lived in Oman, Muscat for 25 years before returning to India. So basically I lived a majority of my life growing up in Oman and I miss all the flavours😢 I still recall the midnight drives just to have mishkaki and honey cheese roti. I will always miss my second home - Oman 🇴🇲
