Description

Today we’re eating the original butter chicken, which was invented in Delhi, India! But how was butter chicken invented? And how did it become the world’s most popular Indian food? A huge thank you to Daryaganj https://www.daryaganj.com/restaurant/bangkok for making this video possible and for the hospitality. I tried the Original 1947 Butter Chicken and Today’s Butter Chicken. Which one would you want to try most? I love Indian food! Makes me think I must be part Indian, but - no - I'm almost 100% German, lol!

Moti Mahal & Dryaganj, both claim that they are the original inventors of Butter Chicken. They are now at logger heads & their case is now in Delhi High Court. Let's see in whose favour the court decides the case.

Wow I love Indian food, I was taught as a teenager by my friend who I sadly miss. During our friendship she had an arranged marriage and by the time she was 17 she left me and flew to India and I never saw or heard from her again. But I’m so grateful to have known her, she taught me how to make old Indian food and I treasure this forever.❤

It seems odd that two friends, working in the same restaurant, would both come up with a similar recipe. They probably worked it out together, and then once it caught on, their families probably fought over who invented it first - since apparently they went into different restaurants eventually. Or, later in life, both chefs were asked who invented the dish, and they both said; "I did".

I love Indian food. Undefeated cuisine in the world. Their use of exotic spices, vast array of herbs, meats and rice. When I travelled Asia, I was very happy in India with the foods. It is undeniably the world's greatest place for foods.

The kundanlal (other side) felt more real. Saving tandoori chicken from dryness and inventing a new gravy is sensible.

Mark is damn smart when he said modern recipe has nuttier flavor because in today's recipes, they add Cashew paste, but in the old recipe there are no cashews.
