CNN's Jim Acosta Just Used AI To Exploit A Parkland Victim In The Creepiest Way Possible
Host Condemns CNN Anchor's AI Interview with Deceased Shooting Victim's Digital Clone
Discover why a former CNN anchor’s interview with an AI recreation of a Parkland victim caused widespread condemnation across political lines. Readers gain insight into the ethical debate surrounding digital resurrection technology and its implications for grief.
Short Summary
- Jim Acasta interviewed an AI simulation of Waqen Oliver, who died in the 2018 Parkland shooting, sparking immediate public revulsion.
- The interview unified diverse political factions (left and right) in criticizing the act as ghoulish, manipulative, and ethically bankrupt.
- The Host argues that the resulting AI puppet fails both ethically (by reducing a human to clichés) and functionally (by providing no meaningful insight). This segment details the broadcast, analyzes the technology's limits, and issues a warning against normalizing digital simulations in place of accepting human mortality.

What kind of pathetic father would exploit his kid like this.
This is literally two NPC’s having a conversation
That is creepy, disturbing, disrespectful, and evil.
This kids parents need help, this is not normal, it's sad
Making AI copies of non-consenting people and minors needs to be made illegal FAST.
A grieving parent exploited by a desperate reporter clinging to any significance.
Well that's creepy as fuck.
It’s not even slightly believable, the kid sounded robotic and his answers were generic and probably not remotely accurate to his real personality.
As someone who lost a child, I understand wanting to hear your child’s voice, but I don’t want to hear some computer mimicking her voice. That’s creepy and weird.
If the mother spends hours "talking" to this AI then she needs mental help urgently.
