I'm an industrial electrician. I have to say that there is something very satisfying, when your called to a breakdown, and everyone is leaning on you to figure out the problem, and fix it, and you do just that. Sitting in an office starting at a screen, or something of the sort, would just not be satisfying in that way.
As a 29 year old man, I can definitely say that I have zero motivation to do anything anymore. Like at all. I used to work out, go out new places try new things all the time, I worked out a lot and used to be pretty fit and strong. I even ran a business for a while. But I just can't get motivated to do anything like that anymore and I hate it. I can't even remember the last time I felt real joy or hapiness. I just work a 9-5, try to save money which usually gets wiped out by some unexpected expense. The idea of owning a home and being able to afford having a kid seems so far out of reach that I just feel hopeless. I feel like I'm just tired of life dude, but I just have to push through. I bring this up not because I want to whine on the internet, but because I don't think it's just me, I think a lot of guys my age are feeling this way and it's a big problem.
My room was right next to Jacob’s in Alexander Hall at Baylor. We were in the same year together and both studied Classics. Seeing him on Matt Walsh is surreal lol
Bring back the regular show. Please!!
The real problem is that these men are asking men to take a chance on women that they themselves would not have considered.
"What you believe is going to change how you build, and having the ability to build is going to enable you to think freely" Pretty well-formulated statement there
Matt, you really have inspired me to keep going. After college I didn’t have any hope. I’m a medical scribe which is basically the equivalent of a receptionist in the medical field. I studied my ass off for almost a year and scored a 519 on the MCAT and now I’m applying to medical schools with a pretty strong application. I’m going to become a doctor and I’m going to fight for the truth and for our values, whatever it takes.
Hello Matt I'm Dustin I just want to let you know I was in a hole most of my life with drugs and I blamed everyone and everything besides myself I lived off SSI and was perfectly fine with scraping through life well I have been clean for almost 6 years now got off SSI and am working and now I have purpose and it's the best thing ever. I'm a huge fan I don't think there has been anything you have said that I would disagree with, watching the world fail after civid was a huge wake up call for me. God bless you on you're travels my friend. Sincerely Dustin
What if you WERE ambitious, worked your way up in your career, but realized you no longer have any joy or drive in the work you’re are doing? When you know you are not where you want to be but have no idea where to go? Thats different than not having any drive or purpose at all.
Great to see Jacob on Matt Walsh's show. Worlds colliding!
