Wow, I'm 48 and I definitely felt this message. I made a huge decision last week for myself and I hope that it was the right one. Time will tell. Great conversation. Thanks!
This might be the best interview I’ve heard all year
I miss the days of interviewing people on how they made their first million....
Howard Marks is such a GOAT. I read the most inportant thing in 2018ish after I heard him on Tim Ferriss. Second level thinking totally changed the way I felt about investing and the beginning of my “appreciation” for risk 😂 homie looks great for 80 too.
As a professional investor with over 20+ years of experience, I believe Howard Marks has lots of wisdom. His books, memos and interviews are full of wisdom. Learn from investors like him.
Thank you Shaan and Sam for bringing the legendary Howard Marks again on the show. What a humble person and teacher he is sharing his knowledge and wisdom and his journey. I was touched by his advice on parenting, on giving freedom of choice to kids and they learn by failing instead of forcing them to do or become something which doesn’t align to their nature or personality. Thank you Mark!!
Bro the quality of the answers!! but also the quality of the Questions 100 100 is the upgraded version of the essence of this pod
I tried this once and everything shifted, because hearing Howard Marks say he “wasted 25 years before getting rich” hit me like a plot twist I didn’t see coming. I remember trying this tiny habit — tracking every dollar for one month — and it felt so small, so basic, almost embarrassing… until I realized how much money I was leaking without noticing. It reminded me of Marks’ whole point: wealth isn’t built by genius, it’s built by finally paying attention. And here’s the part that shocked me: according to Federal Reserve data, the average American loses thousands a year to lifestyle creep, impulse spending, and fees they don’t even know exist. The moment I tried being intentional — just once — everything shifted. It was like discovering the cheat code adults forgot to tell us: you don’t need 25 perfect years, you just need one honest moment where you stop lying to yourself about your money.
Howard seems like an amazing person in the sense that he is humble enough to see when he's wrong, admit it, and just move on with the new perspective and information. Kudos to Mr Marks! He's the guy who makes you wish he was your friend.
