Important Change to SEO (New Google Update)

Many years ago, a manager of mine stressed the importance that our SEO team not be solely focused on SEO, but digital marketing as a whole - meaning we look for all ways that we can help our clients get visibility and earn revenue from all channels and platforms. I've been in that mindset ever since and very grateful for that now.

In short: - Stay omnipresent - run ads - use foundational SEO as the bedrock - dont rely on one traffic source - create assets and equity that are unique and useful (Not AI drivle) - build an email list - utilise stages of customer awareness

Makes me smile when you say you've been doing seo since 2013. Ok. Makes me feel old that I started in 1996.

What do you think about Google's AI Mode? Are SEOs cooked?

I’ve said this for years. Google is a place to have basic websites, forget blogs and spending thousands on ux and ui. They will all eventually look the same your voice will be on Instagram stories and TikTok. Google is basically going to be business cards.

In ten years, people will likely look back at today’s SEO methods as if they were strange rituals performed to appease the almighty search engine god.
