Description

“The canons of narrative in any medium cannot be wholly different; and the failure of poor films is often precisely in exaggeration, and in the intrusion of unwarranted matter owing to not perceiving where the core of the original lies.” - JRR Tolkien The Rings of Power Season 2 REVIEW Supercut #hollywood #amazon #ringsofpower Edited by @QTRBlackGarrett Become a Nerdrotic Channel Member www.youtube.com/c/sutrowatchtower/join Nerdrotic Merch Store! https://mixedtees.com/nerdrotic FNT T-Shirt! https://mixedtees.com/nerdrotic/friday-night-tights Sponsored by MetaPCs! https://www.metapcs.com/creator-nerdrotic/ Sponsored by GEEK GRIND! “Evil is not able to create anything new, it can only distort and destroy what has been invented or made by the forces of good.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien

This really strikes me as some kind of mass delusional narcissism on the part of the show runners and Amazon. No self awareness. No ability to learn from previous experience. Zero introspection. No sense of shame. They just keeping plowing forward without a clue that they are making fools of themselves. All the while blaming anyone and everybody for their failures.

For the modern audience that is confused by our reaction to this abomination, it is because The Lord of the Rings is beloved. Because Tolkien is beloved. When you take a revered story, remove it's skin, drape it upon yourself and begin dancing around, it is a mockery to that which is deeply loved by millions. When those millions return mockery in kind, you probably shouldn't be that confused.

I'm scared shitless of Tolkien's grave causing a Super Volcano when it's revealed Sauron is the father of Arwen

Morfydd Clark's manner of speaking and facial expressions are absolutely ludicrous. How she got this gig is utterly baffling.

The other day my father-in-law said, "would you rather them not make anything?" Yes. yes, I would.

Seeing the footage of RoP compared to Jackson's LotR is so jarring. The LotR movies look like events taking place in a real world with completely believable characters. RoP looks like a bunch of people cosplaying in front of a green screen.

There is a passage in the Silmarillion that describes this very show: The other [Melkor's music] had now achieved a unity of its own; but it was loud, and vain, and enlessly repeated; and it had little harmony, but rather a clamorous unison as of many trumpets braying upon a few notes. And it essayed to drown the other music by the violence of its voice, but it seemed that its most triumphant notes were taken by the other and woven into its own solemn pattern".
