Nintendo would've put this guy in prison for 50 lifetimes and demanded 50 million dollars from him.
the fact he was able to do this just shows how horrible this platforms copyright system is
As a person who got scammed out of $2,000, it really warms my heart to see someone face justice for their crimes
Considering that people can get 10 years in jail for possessing a little bit of drugs, then 5 years is not enough for the guy that stole 23 million.
The fact that You Tube allows this to happen and people have been complaining about it for YEARS is absolutely egregious.
It's not that Jose and co. need harsher punishments, it's that Youtube itself needs to be held responsible for the fraud out of sheer negligence.
5 years means he's serving a day for each 12600 dollars that he's stolen. When's the last time you stole twelve thousand dollars and got a day of punishment for it?

Can't believe YouTube let one of their accomplices go to jail. Truly there's no honor among thieves.
This really high-lights how batshit inane YouTubes approach to copyright is. “Hey that’s mine” seems to be all it takes. Their only concern seems to be removing themselves from any liability at the expense of their own content creators.
