Unknown to all but 9 players
"Concorded" is about to be an actual term to game flops lol
Concord was such a huge flop that it's being used as a new measurement for failure.
So good they must have skipped the last 8 unknowns
Unknown 9 lives up to it's name
> drop a hundred million on making a terrible game > just sort of assume it's gonna be a massive billion dollar IP > game is trash and nobody plays it > blame the players for not appreciating it enough > "make better games? no, we just gotta monetize HARDER" > announce that you'll be charging $100 for AAA games This is how the next videogame crash happens.
we live in an era where triple a games with marvel movie budgets fail and indipendent games done with a button and some pocket lint become massive hits, and i am all for it
At least Concord became a permanent exhibit in the Museum of Failure. This will just get forgotten 5 minutes after learning about it.
the really bad thing about this is that it directly translates to "don't take risks by making games around a new IP" to corpo suits, so they will just play safe and pump out more and more sequels/remakes
Some 9 year olds first Roblox game has had a better opening player count than this AAA title. And what's really crazy is that's probably an understatement.
