the survey was an absolute joke, im happy the community has had such a visceral reaction to it
putting account security of all things behind a paywall is an entirely new level of fucked up
One thing I've always liked about Charlie's videos is that he sits and looks at the camera like he's sitting around a pub table talking to his mates.
I'm glad so many content creators are covering this
It got old enough to drink and it all spiraled from there
It feels good knowing you have our backs. Thank you for making this video and looking out for us all
Community: “the price of membership is too high.” Jagex: “We heard you loud and clear, we will be raising the price of membership.”
"we sent out surveys and 100% of them came back with negative feedback but we dont feel they accurately reflect how gamers feel" this is just another example of "pitch them worst case scenario, roll it back to what we planned, and then work towards worst case over time"
I'm calling it, if this goes through and the game dies there will be a 5 hour video essay called 'Ruinscape'
Honestly I lived and breathed Runescape as a kid it was the first game I ever had a paid membership thing on. I had so many quests done and skills leveled up and the only reason I quit was cause my account got hacked and they basically shrugged and went, "that sucks, should have been more careful with your account info." The literal dread I had as like an 11-12 year old when I had to go to my mom and tell her she didn't need to pay for that membership anymore still lives rent free in my head. So seeing how my original favorite game has fallen like this makes me not feel as bad about quitting.
