Brave Take on Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Movie
FNAF 2 Review: Fan Service Over Narrative Substance
This review breaks down why the FNAF sequel satisfies dedicated fans through lore delivery while failing to establish narrative coherence or standalone scares for general audiences. Readers gain insight into the film’s structural weaknesses contrasted with its successful service to the established IP.
Short Summary
- The sequel succeeds by showing beloved IP elements on the big screen, satisfying core fan desire for recognition.
- Improved elements include greater scale and an effort to increase scariness compared to the first film.
- Major narrative failures involve atrocious dialogue, extreme plotting conveniences, and a lack of meaningful climax resolution.
- The film functions primarily as setup for the third installment, leaving the current experience unsatisfying.
The reviewer watched the FNAF 2 movie and disliked it, noting they also disliked the first. While critics harshly reviewed it, fan praise is understandable because the film prioritizes delivering recognizable game moments over objective cinematic quality. This summary outlines the few positives (scale, horror intent) against significant negatives (script, pacing, lack of payoff).

Them putting the hor hor hor hor meme in the movie makes it peak in my eyes
The best joke of the movie was the hor hor hor hor meme making an appearance, caught me so off guard it was amazing
Vanessa obtaining a personality was the biggest accomplishment of the film
its a "he said the thing" movie
I just don't get why the animatronics move so unbearably slow. In the game, not only does foxy full on haul ass, but they all basically teleport
Im sad that they made the Marionette look so cool and unsettling, then really didnt use it
Let’s not talk about the kid getting stabbed not once, not twice, but THREE times in the back, and the fuckass newspaper is like: “Foul play suspected”
They dead ass had a "We are FNAF" moment at the end when the FNAF 1 animatronics saved them at the end.
I can't wait for the third film where Markiplier appears at the end with absolutely no foreshadowing, and dropkicks Springtrap in the face
Every moment in this movie was just "they put that in the movie?" and "I know that name/reference!" and literally nothing else.
