I met Lea Thompson at a comic book convention maybe ten years ago. When people meet her, they usually want to talk about Back to the Future or maybe even Caroline in the Cityโฆ and I asked her to autograph the DVD of Howard the Duck. She laughed and said, โThis Fโing movie is gonna haunt me for the rest of my life, isnโt it?โ
I couldn't stop laughing her expression the whole movie; that look of pure bewilderment.
Itโs like I could see the desire to even keep this channel going completely leave your eyes
"Who is this movie for?" Preteen boys from the '80s, and we thought it was awesome. The Dark Overlord version of Dr. Jenning is still one of the best and most terrifying makeup jobs on a villain that I've ever seen. I still love the music too.
I LOVED this movie as a kid in the 80s. I watched it so many times with my cousin ๐ It will always have a special place in my heart โค
That was actually Leah Thompson playing the guitar and singing. Actress, singer and musician. Very talented lady.
"I need a new duck. Not a swan or an owl. One that won't moult too much. One that don't smell too fowl. " - Weird Al Yankovic
I so feel for her. I spent a whole summer babysitting three kids who loved this movie. It was on HBO, and it didnโt matter what else they were doing. If they heard even a snippet of the music or caught the tiniest glimpse of it, theyโd come running. They lived in the country and would be outside playing, and theyโd still somehow know the second I was flipping through the channel and it came on. I think we watched it roughly ten billion times that summer. I am still traumatized by the memory. Lol.
I love how Cassie is traumatized about Howardโs appearance even before the start of the movie.
The singing that Lea Thompson does for her character was her actual singing voice.
