I still remember seeing this in the theater during its original run. When the grandfather said “I’m confused” at the end, the entire audience *collapsed* laughing.

Cassie remarked that she thought Cher and Nicholas must be around the same age. Cher was 41 Nick Cage was 23.

Both Cher and Olympia Dukakis won Oscars for their performances in this movie. Such a fun watch.

I adore this film. Saw it in the theater during its initial run. That double slap followed by “SNAP OUT OF IT!” kills me every time.

I’m first Gen Italian. Growing up, my grandparents lived with us. My parents picked up English easily but my grandparents didn’t. At home we all spoke Italian. This movie reminds me of my childhood. My grandparents are all gone and my Dad passed away very unexpectedly about 3 years ago. I love this movie so much and I’m so glad you reacted to it ❤
