It took me a moment to understand that the black goo was the wolf's milk, hence the title Romulus.
I really really want a TV series about Weyland Yutani. The worldbuilding around the company in Prometheus and at the beginning of Romulus give me Westworld / Succession / Blade Runner vibes.
Opening - 00:00 Start - 03:08 Alien - 07:27 Aliens - 15:55 Alien 3 - 29:26 Alien Resurrection - 38:38 AVP - 50:43 AVP 2 - 54:43 Prometheus - 1:02:03 Alien Covenant - 1:13:20 Alien Romulus - 1:28:02 Comparing The movies - 1:47:25 Androids - 1:47:37 Xenomorphs - 1:51:24 Weyland Yutani - 2:09:17 Movie Rankings - 2:19:45
The final jump scare after she was hanging out the ship was so crazy. This Alien hybrid was one of the craziest I’ve seen. I liked how it looked vaguely like an engineer.
Respectfully, Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amalie/ The City of Lost Children).directed Resurrection, not Joss Whedon. Who does have a writing credit though.
I heard "Prometheus Fire"
Just got home from seeing Alien: Romulus. I went in with low expectations and they were exceeded for the most part. The look, the atmosphere were great. Practical effects were awesome. Cailee Spaeny as Rain and David Jonsson as Andy were the standouts and I was rooting for them to live. I liked some of the callbacks to previous films in the franchise but some were a bit much but did not detract that much from my enjoyment. The final act is bonkers but I dug it. There was some very good suspensful moments for me. Overall, despite some flaws this is the best Alien sequel in a long time. I really enjoyed it 8 out of 10.
I genuinely gasped out loud when the engineermorph was shown. And I wasn’t the only one in the theatre.
Quinn the amount of time you invest in creating an opening intro is insane! You are a genius. I’ll bet you’re a Romero fan.
I was blown away when I found out the Romulus "protoengineer" or whatever, was pretty much practical, like full on guy in a suit. In theatre I was certain that was entirely cg.
