I practiced first aid for six years. It was drilled into our heads that when you encounter a neck wound, you put pressure on both sides of the wound and don't let go until told to by a doctor. Very strange no one did this.
Seeing Charlie lying on the box made me sick. I have my EMT license, and the fact, like Owens said, that there was no one holding C-spine, no one applying direct pressure to the wound, and not laying him supine on the ground is absolutely insane. It's those few seconds of immediate care that save lives, and the fact that they were just hovering over him doing nothing in those precious seconds is baffling.
