Description

With Guy Ritchie continuing his action-movie domination and Henry Cavill fans still demanding more spy franchises after The Man From U.N.C.L.E., we’re reacting to The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare — the WWII action-comedy based on Winston Churchill’s real secret mission starring Henry Cavill, Alan Ritchson, Eiza González, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin. Greg Alba & Andrew Gordon break down the film with their full reaction, recap, commentary, analysis, spoiler discussion, and review!! Directed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes), the film stars Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Mission: Impossible – Fallout) as Gus March-Phillipps, Alan Ritchson (Reacher, Fast X) as Anders Lassen, Eiza González (Baby Driver, 3 Body Problem) as Marjorie Stewart, Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, Snake Eyes) as Freddy Alvarez, Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After, The Woman King) as Henry Hayes, and Rory Kinnear (Skyfall, Penny Dreadful) as Winston Churchill. Based on declassified WWII files, the movie follows a rogue team of soldiers and spies recruited by Winston Churchill to launch an unsanctioned mission against Nazi U-boats during World War II. Mixing espionage, sabotage, comedy, and over-the-top action, the film turns a real historical operation into a stylish Guy Ritchie war adventure. The reaction especially focuses on Alan Ritchson’s brutal hand-to-hand combat scenes, Henry Cavill’s calm and charismatic leadership, Eiza González stealing scenes with her undercover infiltration storyline, and how the movie blends spy-thriller tension with western-style action and fast-paced Guy Ritchie editing. Greg & Andrew repeatedly praise the ensemble chemistry, the jazz-infused soundtrack, the stylized violence, and how surprisingly suspenseful the final harbor heist becomes. They also react heavily to the reveal that Cavill’s character helped inspire James Bond, the Inglourious Basterds-style Nazi infiltration scenes, and just how much fun the movie has with its outrageous WWII action set pieces. #TheMinistryOfUngentlemanlyWarfare #HenryCavill #GuyRitchie #AlanRitchson #MovieReaction #WWII #ActionMovie #FilmReaction #ReactionVideo #EizaGonzalez Intense Suspense by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 0:00 Checkin inn! 1:30 TMOUW Reaction 33:57 Huel 35:45 TMOUW Reaction 1:06:48 TMOUW Review RR Clips & Shorts Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ReelRejectsClips Follow TheReelRejects On The Socials: IG: https://www.instagram.com/reelrejects/ TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@thereelrejects?lang=en TWITTER: https://twitter.com/thereelrejects FB: https://www.facebook.com/TheReelRejects/ Music Used In Ad: Hat the Jazz by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Happy Alley by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Supervising Producer: https://twitter.com/nerdchronic?lang=en Co-Editor: Greg Alba Co-Editor: John Humphrey Music In Video: Airport Lounge - Disco Ultralounge by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow & Listen to Us Wherever You Get Your Podcasts!! - Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3XHMwbveiznxSOGxN9XT0M - Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5tZWdhcGhvbmUuZm0vc3Rhci13YXJzLXRhbGs - Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-reel-rejects-tv-movie-recaps/id1616339990 - Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Apocalypse-Podcast/B08JJP58FG PLAYLISTS: Trailer Reactions & Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw9ZsLdoAQFpx38s2hhyFgDe Movie Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw-comtadVs8b9JsZEWHUyr8 Movie Talk (News, Spoiler Reviews, & Film Rumors!!!): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw8fPQ-21NVSb2IOwIiHbVt8 Youtube Video Reactions & Discussions: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw_qwcPsN_vOxXC6IVzrOQYG Sketches & Short Films: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw_zWuTRfBOUP3aYyIYRzc2y

My favorite story about Anders Lassen (Alan Ritchson's character) is once he was required to fill out after-action reports and he really hated doing it. In an official record one of his entire reports was "Landed. Eliminated Germans. Fucked Off."

As for the historical facts, the Brits were doing WILD shit during WWII, read up on Special Operations Executive (SOE) and what later became the SAS, they laid the groundwork for everything that todays elite forces are known for

9:05 Bond was based on Gus (Henry Cavill) and Christopher Lee (literally him) so this is completely accurate, the perfect mix of suave and dangerous (Which they both were)

If Inglourious Basterds had a British brother-in-law it would be The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

All the team here except Eiza González's character never saw the end of WW2.

Ian Fleming is played by Freddie Fox, whose dad is legendary English actor Edward Fox, who played M in Sean Connery's NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN (1983), the "unsanctioned" 007 film.

This movie is probably more underrated than The Man from UNCLE.
