Kathy Bates' mother was once asked how she felt about Kathey winning an Oscar and she said she felt Kathy wasn't really acting, as she had known Kathy as a teenager. 🤣
Stephen King was in the grips of severe alcoholism and cocaine addiction when he wrote the book. Annie was a metaphor for his addiction, holding him hostage and trying to kill him. He got clean and sober after his wife and kids staged an intervention and has stayed so for over 35 years.
A true Stephen King classic. That Ankle braking scene still hurts mine. Kathy Bates is a treasure. She was absolutely horrifying in this movie. Her Oscar was rightfully deserved.
That was funny that you said Paul Sheldon's agent 'talked like actors used to talk back in the day' without recognizing LAUREN BACALL who was one of those actors who talked like that back in the day!
My ankles hurt just thinking about this movie.
James Caans performance is massively underrated in this film. He is the perfect foil for Bates unhinged brilliance
Fun fact one of her victims in her scrap book lived at the Stanley Hotel from the Shinning, poor guy survived all those ghosts but not this crazy lady
Your ankles will never feel the same again after watching this movie lol. Kathy Bates does an amazing job in this movie!!
This is actually one of the most tame King-adaptations in direct comparison to the book. They massively toned down the degree of cruelty of the physical and psychological torture for the film.
