For anyone who doesn't know -- Richard Bachman is a pen name Stephen King used.
Now this movie absolutely slaps. "FIRST SUBZERO, NOW PLAINZERO!"
"Hey Killian, here's Sub-Zero! Now, plain zero!" "Where's Buzzsaw?" "He had to split." "What a hothead." "Hey Killian. I'll be back." "Only in a rerun." "Well, that hit the spot." "Hey, over here, Christmas tree!"
This film is one of the reasons 80's action movies will never be beaten. Cheesy dialogue, plenty of violence and no confusing plot. Just a solid, entertaining movie 👌🏻
The young "revolutionary" who says "Don't touch that dial." is Dweezil Zappa, son of the legendary Frank, and also an accomplished guitarist in his own right.
This needs to be a double feature with "Demolition Man". Both fantastic representations of a retro near future.
19:54 Choreography by Paula Abdul. She also choreographed the dance scene in Coming to America
22:49 I think we’ve reached the point where 80s future could now be termed “vintage-future”
You can be excused for not recognizing Erland van Lidth. He died a few months after making this film, only his fourth roll. That was him singing, as he was an opera singer. He was also a computer scientist from MIT, and an Olympic heavyweight wrestler. He is best known as Grossberger in stir crazy with Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. Oh, and his theme here is Ride of the valkyrie, not flight of the bumblebee
