When Nick O’Bannon (Bobby Campo, A Christmas Horror Story) has a premonition of a catastrophic crash at McKinley Speedway—with his girlfriend Lori Milligan (Shantel VanSanten, One Tree Hill), friends Hunt Wynorski (Nick Dillenburg, Prison Break: The Final Break) and Janet Cunningham (Haley Webb, Splice)—they flee the stands just before the engine assembly careens loose, killing spectator Nadia Monroy (Cristen Coppen, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Joining them are tow-truck driver Carter Daniels (Devon Lavallee, Trick ‘r Treat), grieving mother Samantha Lane (Emma Bell, The Walking Dead), mechanic Andy Kewzer (Arlen Escarpeta, The Bronze Horseman) and security guard George Lanter (Kyle Schmid, Being Human). Death’s design unfolds in order: Carter is dragged into his truck’s propeller, Samantha is impaled by a lawnmower accident, and Andy is launched into a fence by a gas-leak–fueled CO₂ blast. Nick and Lori race against time, saving Janet from a carwash conveyor but failing to rescue Hunt as a pool drain severs him. In a desperate hospital attempt, they can’t stop Jonathan Groves (Dillon Casey, UnREAL) from drowning in an overflowing bathtub, and George is crushed by a runaway ambulance. Nick’s frantic warning to Lori and Janet at the mall comes too late—Janet is killed by exploding concessions, and Lori is nearly caught in an escalator collapse that Nick ultimately averts. Two weeks later, Nick, Lori & Janet reunite at a café—only for a scaffold to fall, sending a truck crashing into them and sealing Death’s inevitable design.
